Photo location analysis — September product update

September 2026

A summary of the photo upload, location evidence, EXIF, and credit features currently available in PhotoLocation.ai.

2026/09/16

This September update brings together the current ways to upload a photo, review location evidence, and understand analysis credits.

Analyze a photo from the homepage

Upload one JPEG, PNG, or WebP image up to 10 MB. Add optional context about the scene, trip, language, or possible region before starting the analysis. Sign in to submit an analysis.

Review the location evidence

Results bring together a likely location, visual evidence, and reasoning. When valid coordinates are available, inspect the suggested place on a map. Treat the result as a lead to verify, rather than a confirmed location.

See available camera metadata

PhotoLocation reads available EXIF information from the uploaded file and includes it alongside the analysis. Camera settings and GPS data depend on what the original image contains; an image without GPS can still be analyzed using visual clues.

Understand analysis credits

Each successful analysis uses 5 credits. The free signup allowance is 15 credits, enough for up to three analyses. See the credit plans for current plan details.
